How do I keep track of the status of a file once I submit it for transcription?
eDecree's Dictation List option allows you to view all the dictations you have ever submitted, and the status field will tell you where the job is at all times. You can also filter the dictations based on the status, so that you do not see all of the older closed dictations.
How can I estimate the number of pages my dictation will translate to?
The number of pages your dictation translates to depends on the speed of the speakers. As a general rule of thumb, a conversation usually approximates to a page for every 1.5 minutes of speech, while a legal dictation with punctuation, and selective spelling approximates to a page for every 8 minutes of speech.
How do I know when my transcribed word document is ready?
You will receive a notification email from eDecree as soon as your transcribed word document is ready for your review. The email will also provide a link to the dictation itself for your convenience.
How do I report issues with the transcribed word file?
eDecree's issue reporting allows you to report any issues on a per dictation basis. When you receive the dictation for review, simply fill in the Issue field, and click on Report Issue. The dictation is then sent back to us for further investigation.
Why are specific sections of the transcribed word document highlighted?
Specific sections of the transcribed document are highlighted to bring your attention to the fact that our transcribers are doubtful as to those sections due to issues with the recording quality.
How do I categorize my dictations so that I can track them better?
eDecree's File feature allows you to tag your dictations with a File name so that you can classify different dictations in different categories. This is useful for lawyers who wish to separate different case files especially for billing purposes.
How do I provide feedback on the service?
Our suggestions box is the most convenient way for you to provide feedback on the overall service. It is accessible from the main menu bar. If you have issues with a specific dictation, you can provide feedback using the Issues feature in the Dictation details page.
